Southeast 36 Inch Sewer Rehabilitation

The South East 36 Inch Interceptor lining project is being financed in its entirety by the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (SRF). The SRF program is administered by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and receives a portion of its money to fund these types of projects from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. This project includes installing a CIPP lining in 7,015 linear feet of sewers and rehabilitating 17 manholes and will cost $1,200,000. Once complete, it will improve water quality for area residents and businesses in Decatur by preventing inflow and outflow from the sewers and extend the useful life of the sewer by 50 to 100 years. SRF programs operate in each state to provide communities the resources necessary to build, maintain, and improve the infrastructure that protects one of our most valuable resources: water.
