The Sanitary District of Decatur’s Engineering Department is a team of skilled professionals overseeing the technical aspects and infrastructure management of the district including planning, direction, production, and oversight of the many and various projects undertaken by the District on an on-going basis.
The Engineering Staff supports the district in the following ways:
- Mission Fulfillment: From planning to coordination, the team procures and installs equipment crucial for managing our 125MGD wastewater treatment facility, aligning seamlessly with SDD’s mission.
- Unique Expertise: Our diverse team is comprised of experienced professionals with various technical backgrounds, fostering innovative problem-solving and comprehensive project oversight.
- Collaborative Integration: Engaging closely with other units like Operations, the team ensures smooth project execution, addressing critical infrastructure needs and facilitating seamless upgrades.
- Adaptation and Progress: Over the years, the team has evolved from paper-based processes to embracing technology, enabling swift decision-making and efficient project management.
- Future Goals: In 2024/25, the focus is on GIS enhancements, integrating vital documents for better system management and ensuring future readiness.
