New Director of Compliance and Innovation
The Sanitary District of Decatur is pleased to announce Ashley Bailey joining the SDD team in the role of Director of Compliance and Innovation.
The Director of Compliance and Innovation Plans, coordinates, directs and administers the regulatory and compliance activities of the District; represents the District at hearings and meetings related to regulatory and environmental issues; assists in the development and implementation of operational procedures to ensure cost-effective compliance with all environmental regulations associated with the operations and construction of the wastewater systems; and directs the activities of the District’s industrial pre-treatment and analytical laboratory programs.
Ashley is the first female employee at SDD serving in a executive level position.
Ashley has a master’s degree in Biological Sciences and 12 years of wastewater and environmental experience. She began her career at the City of Charleston WWTP as an operator and lab director. She left the City of Charleston to join Missouri DNR as a Water Pollution Inspector and to extend her knowledge on regulatory compliance. Her most recent position was as an Environmental Coordinator for ADM in Decatur further expanding her compliance knowledge.
Ashley is married to her husband DJ, a firefighter/paramedic, and they have a miniature dachshund. Ashley is also an avid crossfitter and coach. She and her husband also enjoy boating at the Lake of the Ozarks on their time off.
